My name is Collins TAMBI, originally from Douala, Cameroon, and currently based in the United States of America. In 2014, I was
granted the opportunity to relocate to the USA as a permanent resident, an experience that completely transformed my life and broadened my understanding of development, opportunity, and social empowerment. Living abroad has allowed me to see more clearly how poverty, limited opportunities, political instability, and lack of access to skills and innovation continue to hinder the growth and wellbeing of many communities in Cameroon, especially for people from disadvantaged backgrounds. These realities deepened my desire to remain connected to initiatives that create meaningful change back home. It was this passion that drew me to Life Changing Humanitarian Association (LICHA-Cameroon), a non-governmental organization committed to empowering vulnerable and underprivileged persons economically, socially, and culturally.

LICHA’s vision of equipping people with practical skills, educational support, moral guidance, and opportunities for self-reliance strongly aligns with my belief that sustainable development begins when people are empowered to transform their own lives. What inspires me most about LICHA is its commitment to Enhancing Skills, Alleviating Poverty, and positively changing lives through capacity building, career guidance, vocational empowerment, and support for orphans and vulnerable children. In a society where many young people struggle to access opportunities, LICHA stands as a beacon of hope for individuals and families seeking a better future. As the Public Relations Officer for the Diaspora (USA), I consider it both a privilege and a responsibility to share LICHA’s vision with Cameroonians abroad, friends of goodwill, and potential partners across the United States and beyond. I strongly believe that through international partnerships, collective support, and community solidarity, countless vulnerable lives can be transformed. It gives me great joy to contribute to a mission that restores hope, empowers communities, and creates opportunities for underserved and marginalized people to thrive and become active contributors to society
