Helping Today, Tommorow and Forever
LICHA-CAMEROON– Life Changing Humanitarian Organization Cameroon is an apolitical, non-religious, non-profit making and non-governmental organization that seeks to bring hope, sustainable change and development to persons from disadvantaged backgrounds (the underprivileged, the physically challenged, the orphans and other vulnerable persons) by improving on their living conditions and empowering them to have access to education and other trainings that can guarantee them self-employment.
The best way to feel fulfilled is to rise up and give hope to the hopeless.

What People Think
I am Dr. Theophilus Mburi, a Medical Doctor serving at the Nkambe District hospital, Dunga Mantum Division, North West region of Cameroon. In 2013/2014,I benefited from a free life changing session of counseling with the Founder/CEO of Life Changing Humanitarian Association, then a Common Initiative Group; Mr. Promise Fornjum in Nkor,Noni Sub-Division,Bui Division, Northwest region. That was immediately after my Advanced level results and my options per what to do next were really limited. He took upon himself to educate, counseled and enlightened me on the various options, professions and what it takes to be successfully enrolled into these various fields of life.

My name is Bo Schrimcher. I am an HVAC engineer resident in Huntsville, Alabama in the United States of America. I became one of the sponsors of LICHA-Cameroon in 2019 through the program Free Education to the Less Privileged, Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children in the Society. My co-worker here in the United States, Mr. Tambi Collins who is the publicity secretary of the organisation here shared the vision with me and I became interested and decided to lend a helping hand in my own little way. Since then I have been contributing my little token to help internally displaced children, orphans and the less privileged between the ages 3 to 14 years acquire free education through the scholarship scheme of LICHA-Cameroon.

My name is Annabel, a widow with 4 kids. I’m resident at mile 4, Nkwen in the Bamenda III council area as an internally displaced person, as a result of the current Anglophone crisis. I am a native of Bamumka, Ndop in Ngoketundia sub division of the northwest region of Cameroon. I became a widow in 2019.Before becoming a widow; my husband was a brick layer who died in 2019 in connection to the Anglophone crisis shut by the military with a false pretense of hiding armed separatist fighters. Before his dead, I was 4 months pregnant for my last child. Prior to coming in contact with LICHA-Cameroon and after 6 months with the pregnancy, I went through inhumane conditions with the pregnancy where I finally gave birth after 10months. During these difficult moments, I came in contact with LICHA-Cameroon which contributed greatly in taking care of my 3 children, my antenatal process till I gave birth. All my hospital bills during this process were taken care of by LICHA Cameroon and her partners.

My name is Samiratou Rachida. I come from Donga Mantung Division of the Northwest region. I am 27years of age and a single mother of a 5years old girl. I am resident at mile 3 Nkwen-Bamenda as an internally displaced person. In November 2018, my family compound in a village precisely Ngarbu in Ndu sub division was completely burnt down to ashes by the military during an armed exchange between the separatist fighters and the military. My grandmother who was of aged was also gruesomely burnt in the house. We became homeless. I tried seeking refuge with border villages in Nkambe but life became unbearable. Then, I moved to Bamenda and found refuge in a relatively safe place for internally displaced persons in the Bamenda III area offered by the Bamenda III Council. In June 2019, LICHA-Cameroon in a partnership with the Bamenda III council came to my rescue as they selected some widows and young single mothers to train them on baking and pastries. I participated and learned how to make chin-chin. After the training, they gave us baking items and start-up capital. I went home and began frying chin-chin as we were thought, then went around selling in town and also began supplying to some petty shops. Today, I am financially independent, taking care of myself and my daughter whose father unfortunately joined the armed separatist fighters and was killed. I am indeed thankful to LICHA because I am able to make earns meet without depending entirely on any man.

My name is Joseph Kotti Tita. I am the first deputy Mayor of the Bamenda III Council area in the Northwest region of Cameroon. LICHA-Cameroon is that one organization that has consistently worked in collaboration with the Bamenda III Council in matters pertaining to the sustainable development of the community and beyond. I must commend the leadership and dynamism of the CEO/Founder; Mr. Promise Fornjum.
Following the outbreak of the armed conflict between the separatist fighters and the government forces causing a lot of havoc in the lives of humanity especially the vulnerable, LICHA-Cameroon has done a lot to rescue internally displaced persons and other vulnerable persons in the Bamenda III municipality and beyond. Supporting this vision is an indirect way of developing Cameroon because I see the organisation 10years from today as a savior to the many problems affecting humanity in poverty stricken communities in Cameroon and beyond. I see this organisation as the right organisation worth supporting, and the right channel to implement and achieve the United Nations 2030 agenda.

I am Fobasso Prudence, a humanitarian worker working as a Monitoring specialist with Plan Cameroon. I hold a Masters degree in public private law from the University of Dschang, Cameroon. One of the pillars of my career growth in the field of Humanitarian action was LICHA which has impacted the grassroots community with its numerous projects such as Career Orientation and counseling, menstrual cycle and Hygiene education, just to name these few. I was opportune to be part of these as a volunteer at my early beginnings which build my capacity in understanding the most essential in child projection, sexual reproductive and health rights (SRHR) and GBV. LICHA is best at proposing proper selection criteria, interacting with vulnerable and at risk children, making referrals and follow-up of cases, sensitization during their programs, choosing the best of core relief items and mama kits for the vulnerable population.
