LICHA-Cameroon has been supporting a 23-year-old woman living with multiple disabilities resulting from muscular dystrophy in Mbelewa Nkwen, Bamenda III Sub-Division. Following the death of her father several years ago, she has faced significant challenges related to mobility, living conditions, and access to basic necessities.
During an earlier humanitarian intervention, LICHA provided her with a wheelchair to improve mobility and subsequently donated a modern bed, mattress, pillows, blanket, and bedsheets after learning that she had been sleeping on a hard wooden chair in a dilapidated home. Despite these interventions, her continued vulnerability and difficult living conditions require sustained humanitarian support.
As part of its commitment to follow up on vulnerable beneficiaries and promote their dignity and wellbeing, LICHA-Cameroon conducted a follow-up visit early in 2026 and provided essential food items to support her nutritional needs and overall wellbeing. The visit also provided an opportunity to assess her continuing needs and reinforce LICHA’s commitment to accompanying vulnerable persons beyond one-off assistance.
